Kinzoo Messenger launches new group audio feature perfect for young gamers

Vancouver, BC—May 23, 2024: Kinzoo is pleased to announce that it has launched a new group calling experience called Jams. This feature is available for both one-on-one conversations and group chats in Kinzoo Messenger.

Kinzoo launched video calling in December 2020 after numerous requests from the Kinzoo community. And ever since, the company has received feedback that group calling would be a great addition to Kinzoo Messenger. So, Kinzoo designed an entirely new group calling experience: Jams! These audio calls include custom effects and reactions, allowing users to truly express themselves. And, users can Jam while using other apps, so it’s perfect for kids to use while gaming together.

According to The National Library of Medicine, over 90% of children 2 and older play video games, and three-quarters of American households own a gaming console. And, children ages 8 to 17 spend an average of 1.5 to 2 hours a day gaming. The rise in popularity of multiplayer online games means that many gamers are turning to sidecar apps that allow them to communicate in real-time while gaming. While there are many chat apps for adult gamers to choose from, there is a dearth of options designed to be safe for all ages.

“I remember bussing across town to play video games with friends when I was a kid,” says Kinzoo founder Sean Herman. “Children are still gaming together today—but they’re doing it from home using technology. We want to help kids have those formative experiences together in a safer way online. That’s one reason we built Jams: to give younger gamers a dedicated digital place where they can live chat with friends.”

Because Kinzoo Messenger is available in both the App Store and the Play Store, individuals and groups can use Jams together on iOS and Android devices. And just like all chat features in Kinzoo Messenger, users can only Jam with approved contacts.
